Founded some fifty years ago, the Society aims to promote interest and awareness in archaeology and history by encouraging and supporting field survey, research and recording, preservation of ancient monuments and antiquities and excavation to professional standards with publication where appropriate. There is a programme of lectures during the winter months at Pilton Community College with expeditions to sites of historical interest during the summer. New members are welcome.
