Devon Suffrage Activists, 1866-1918

Devon History Society members collaborated during 2017/18 to mark the centenary of the Representation of the People Act 1918 by researching the lives of the women who were active in Devon during the suffrage campaigns between 1866 and 1918. The biographies written by members can be found in the index here.

The Google map below shows the location of suffrage activists in Devon between 1866 and 1918. Blue pins indicate where those individuals were residing at the time; violet pins mark Devonians who were active in the suffrage movement elsewhere in the country during that period.

Clicking the symbol, top LH corner of map, opens a panel listing the names.  Clicking on a name highlights the pin indicating the address where that individual resided.  A link to a web page documenting each individual’s biography is displayed beside the pin.

Open the map full screen by clicking the square box in the top RH corner.
