Starcross History

Our fledgling history group welcomes all.  We invite speakers to our meetings.  We have projects and we’re planning some trips out.  There is no membership fee, because we don’t want to exclude anyone.  To cover costs, we sell refreshments, and ask everyone to bring a raffle prize and buy some raffle tickets at our meetings in the brand new Starcross pavilion.  We also sell our enamel club badge, which features The Swan of the Exe.  Starcross projects include: oral history, recreating the twelfth century Stairs Cross, making a wall-hanging to celebrate country living, remembering the Royal Western Counties Hospital, and artwork to commemorate our Victorian inventor, Captain George Peacock.  Do you have a memory of Starcross?  Would you help with research or a project?  Can you recommend speakers?  Are you brimful of project ideas?
